The Pine Township Board of Supervisors held their regular meeting at 7:00 PM at the Pine Township Municipal Building in Heilwood. Ryan Shultz, Chris Cameron and Keith Muir were present. Ryan Shultz called the meeting to order then led the Pledge of Allegiance and welcomed all visitors.
There were no Guest Speakers.
There were no Citizens Comments.
The Board approved the Minutes of the May 6th, 2019 meeting. A motion to accept the minutes was called for by Mr. Muir, seconded by Mr. Cameron. Motion carried.
The Treasurer’s Reports were presented to the Board. A motion to accept the reports was called for by Mr. Muir, seconded by Mr. Cameron. Motion carried.
Bills were reviewed. Mr. Cameron moved to pay the bills on the agenda totaling $10,332.50; General Funds $9,529.75, State Funds $802.75. Mr. Muir seconded; motion carried.
The Roadmaster’s Report was presented to the Board. A motion to accept the report was made by Mr. Cameron, seconded by Mr. Shultz. Motion carried.
The Police Report was reviewed. Mr. Cameron moved accept the report. Mr. Muir seconded; motion carried.
The Supervisors Discussed the progress being made with the dangerous structures from the previous meetings. Storm damage and pipe replacement.
Unfinished Business consisted of a vote to advertise the Volunteer Fire Company Ordinance. Motion to advertise was made by Mr. Cameron, seconded by Mr. Shultz.
Also, under Unfinished Business was the opening and awarding of stone and oil bids for tar and chipping. The results received for #8 stone per ton: Brawley Trucking, Inc $23.27, Homer Sleek and Sons $24.15 and Tom Ritchey Transport $21.99. Bid was awarded to Tom Ritchey Transport. The results for 40,000 gallons E-3 Midland Asphalt Materials $1.96 per gallon, Suit-Kote Corporation $1.919. The results for 10,000 gallons MC-70 were Midland Asphalt Materials $2.97 and Suit-Kote Corporation $2.986 Mr. Muir motioned to accept low bids for #8 stone and E-3 and to award the MC 70 to Suite-Kote because they were low bid in E-3 and the difference was only .016 cents. This would make it easier to schedule. Mr. Cameron seconded; motion carried with all Supervisors in agreement.
Under New Business the Supervisors voted to purchase new playground equipment for the Pine Township Park from Play & Park Structures. The total amount including shipping and installation is $37,786.53. Mr. Cameron motioned to accept the contract; Mr. Shultz seconded the motion. Motion carried with all Supervisors in agreement.
The Public Comments mostly concerned the letters that went out last month concerning the dangerous structures. Some owners requested inspections. Questions were asked about progress. There was also a storm related question.
The Supervisors Announced the need for a park committee made up of volunteers to clean and help maintain the park. Interested residents should contact the office at 814-948-4480.
Mr. Cameron then moved to Adjourn the Meeting. Mr. Shultz seconded the motion. Motion carried. The June Meeting was adjourned at 7:40 PM.
