MINUTES
PINE TOWNSHIP SUPERVISORS MEETING
July 3rd, 2023


The Pine Township Board of Supervisors held their regular meeting at 7:00 PM at the Pine Township Municipal Building in Heilwood. Ryan Shultz and Chris Cameron were present. Ryan Shultz called the meeting to order then led the Pledge of Allegiance.

There were no Guest Speakers.

The Board approved the Minutes from the June meeting. A motion to accept the minutes was called for by Mr. Cameron, seconded by Mr. Shultz. Motion carried.

The Treasurer’s Reports and Timesheets were presented to the Board. A motion to accept the reports was called for by Mr. Cameron, seconded by Mr. Shultz. Motion carried.

Bills were reviewed. Mr. Cameron moved to pay the bills on the agenda totaling $17,909.81. General Funds $15,729.39, State Funds $2,180.42. Mr. Shultz seconded; motion carried. The Balances after expenditures are General Fund $ 637,690.14 and State Fund $451,860.73.
 
The Roadmaster’s Report was presented to the Board. A motion to accept the report was made by Mr. Cameron, seconded by Mr. Shultz. Motion carried.

The Police Report was reviewed. Police Chief John Scherf informed the supervisors about a grant available for the police department and would forward more information after speaking with the Cherry Tree Municipal Department. A motion to accept the report was called for by Mr. Cameron, seconded by Mr. Shultz. Motion carried. 

The Supervisors Discussed tar and chip, equipment maintenance, 19.09-ton trash collected during clean-up.

The Unfinished Business consisted of Mr. Shultz sharing an update on the Kinter Station bridge replacement project. The engineers emailed the bid packet earlier today. Mr. Shultz was forwarding the bid packet to Mr. Cameron to look over for his approval. 

Update on flag project: There is an Eagle Scout in need of a project and is interested in taking on the flag pole project. Although it was discussed at the June meeting to put up 3 flagpoles, we found out we do not have the space required. Mr. Shultz proposed one 25 ft flag pole for the American and State flags to be hung. A motion was made by Mr. Cameron, seconded by Mr. Shultz. Motion passed. 

There was no New Business

Public Comments: Shirley Fasoli expressed concerns regarding a tree obscuring the view at the stop sign on 3rd Ave in Heilwood. She also expressed concerns regarding teens entering an abandoned house she owns on 3rd Ave. and leaving trash behind. She was wanting to block the alley to the house since she claims other resident do and was told alleys are never to be blocked.

Mr. Shultz moved to Adjourn the July meeting. Mr. Cameron seconded the motion. Motion carried. The July meeting was adjourned at 7:32 PM. Attendees- See attached list
