The Pine Township Board of Supervisors held their regular meeting at 7:00 PM at the Pine Township Municipal Building in Heilwood. Ryan Shultz, Chris Cameron and Keith Muir were present. Ryan Shultz called the meeting to order then led the Pledge of Allegiance.
There were no Guest Speakers.
The Board approved the Minutes from the October meeting. A motion to accept the minutes was called for by Mr. Muir, seconded by Mr. Cameron. Motion carried.
The Treasurer’s Reports and Timesheets were presented to the Board. A motion to accept the reports was called for by Mr. Muir, seconded by Mr. Cameron. Motion carried.
Bills were reviewed. Mr. Muir moved to pay the bills on the agenda totaling $13,264.58. General Funds $13,264.58, State Funds $0. Mr. Cameron seconded; motion carried. The Balances after expenditures are General Fund $ 652,874.58 and State Fund $359,144.90.
The Roadmaster’s Report and was presented to the Board. A motion to accept the report was made by Mr. Muir, seconded by Mr. Cameron. Motion carried.
The Police Report was reviewed. A motion to accept the report was called for by Mr. Muir, seconded by Mr. Cameron. Motion carried.
The Supervisors Discussed fall clean-up. Collected 5.37 ton. Mr. Shultz proposed next year to reduce the number of dumpsters and schedule clean-up Saturday and Sunday. Police Chief Scherf informed the supervisors Cherry Tree Borough is looking to increase their rate for 2024.
The Unfinished Business consisted of opening bids for 500 ton of PennDOT approved anti-skid.
Bid Results: Neiswonger $25.70, Derry Stone & Lime Co $25.25, Brawley Trucking $29.95.
Motion to accept low bid from Derry Stone and Lime Co at $25.25/ton by Mr. Cameron, seconded by Mr. Shultz. Motion carried.
Other new business consisted of a motion by Mr. Shultz to obtain leasing from Community Leasing Partners for the 2023 plow truck for a term of 10 years, no payment down, with the payment due annually. Mr. Muir seconded the motion. Motion carried with all Supervisors in agreement.
New Business consisted of a motion to accept and pass resolution #2023-1106, stating the Pine Township Supervisors are requesting a Statewide Local Share Assessment grant from the Commonwealth Financing Authority to be used for purchasing a new truck. Mr. Cameron made a motion to adopt the resolution, Mr. Muir seconded the motion. Motion carried.
The second order of new business consisted of a motion by Mr. Shultz to advertise the 2024 Budget Report. The 2024 Annual Budget Report will be available for public inspection at the township office during regular business until December 4th, 2023. Mr. Muir seconded the motion. Motion carried.
